What would be the experience of physically touching the screen controls? How might we interpret the little windows of media on our mobile devices? What if we didn't type every bit of text but had to use a pen?
These were some of the thoughts that engineer-turned-designer Amy Lee had when she started creating the U+I Collection. She looked to her roots in web page creation and saw an opportunity to embody tactile experiences. Thus, the humble on/off switch on the screen has become a physical coaster that slides back and forth in its Toggle Tray. The second screen sits in an angular iFrame Stand phone stand. And the notepad and pen holder became the Input Field Tray. Combining high-tech themes with low-tech woodworking creates an almost nostalgic feeling of the first time you may have bought something online, propped up your phone on your desk, or posted an update on social media.
See the deep walnut hardwood tones complemented by bright maple. Or choose the lighter maple bodies and their more secondary walnut accent.
