Product Care for Polished Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a wonderfully durable and moisture-resistant material. Developed to a high polish, it adds shine to your furniture pieces and tabletop art. This guide provides initial set of instructions to help you maintain its luster and cleanliness.

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is a combination of iron, carbon, and chromium. It develops natural rust-resistance properties by forming a microscopic barrier between the air and the metal. However, over time, stainless steel inevitably accumulates wear and discoloration.

General maintenance of stainless steel

Gentle cleaning is best with stainless steel. A dab of water and a very light use of a microfiber cloth is best. Soft and gentle is better.

Avoid putting sticky substances on the steel. Also, avoid abrasive rubbing as it can dull the surface polish.

Do not use cleaners or rubbing alcohol.

How to restore stainless steel luster

The best part of stainless steel is that it can be restored to a high polish. Knowledge of polishing compounds requires some skill. We use a variety of common buffing compounds and protectants.
